The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations require employers to prevent or reduce risks to health and safety from exposure to vibration at work
HAVBase can be used to significantly reduce the time, costs and resources required to carry out high quality risk assessments using data from previous measurments.
In advance of any project (including field engineering), simply select tools, activities and estimated trigger times, add references and then download automatically generated risk assessment report.
Hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) results from exposure to hand-transmitted vibration.
HAVS Symptoms
Periodic attacks during which the blood circulation in the fingers is impaired and parts of the fingers become white. This is sometimes known as vibration white finger
Numbness and tingling in the fingers, and a reduced sense of touch and temperature, due to damage to nerves in the hand. This damage can make it difficult to feel, and to work with, small objects;
Joint pain and stiffness in the hand and arm. Grip strength can be reduced due to nerve and muscle damage.
A central equipment register across the whole organisation that can also be split into subsets specific to each subsidiary (defined by the client).
The data can also be used for evaluations as part of the buy/hire Smooth procurement process.
NoiseBase is an option for HAVBase. It adds the ability to combine vibration with noise data in the same database to simplify risk management
Obtaining reliable and accurate field data requires costly instrumentation, a high level of practical training, considerable organisation (of both tools and operators) and is a very time consuming process.
The data in HAVBase has been collected by INVC engineers over many years according to ISO/BS5349. There is also the provision to enter measured values for equipment.
